Healthy Living

“A calm and undisturbed mind and heart are the life and health of the body, but envy, jealousy, and wrath are like rottenness of the bones.” (Proverbs 14:30, AMP).

It is very clear from our text scriptures today that the mind and heart are the controlling centres to what happens to the body. This means that if you can take care of the state of your mind and heart, you can definitely take care of the state of your body. The human body is as important as the mind and heart. Note that heart in this context can also be regarded as your spirit.

So when your mind and heart are free from worries, anxieties and other negative emotions, it is likely that you will be free from high blood pressure, stroke, etc. But a heart always charged with negativity such as jealousy, anger, hatred, unforgiveness, etc, will cause harm to the body.

God wants you to live a long, healthy life. This is because your he needs you to partner with Him to establish His kingdom here on earth. When you refuse to take care of your mind and heart, you are automatically not taking care of your body. Invariably you are trying to tell God and yourself that living long and healthy is not a priority for you.

Guard your heart with all diligence. Let the thoughts that dwell in your mind be good thoughts. Good thoughts will activate the right emotions in you. Do not think on things that stir up hate, evil, envy and anger in you. God’s prescription for living healthy is simple. It is great wisdom to live by it. #BeInspired.
