“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24, KJV).

The death of Jesus on the cross was the greatest and most meaningful death any man could die. The reason which was to redeem mankind from the bondage of sin, not for a short while, but forever. Hallelujah! There are two sides to redemption. The first is the LEGAL part and the other is the VITAL part.

The legal part of redemption is the freedom we have received through the symbolic sacrifice of Christ’s death on the cross. It is the past tense of what Jesus’ death has done for us. An example is what our text scripture for today tries to explain, “By His stripes we WERE healed”. Note the past tense of God’s word. This means that you are already healed, rich, successful, righteous, etc.

The second part which is the vital part is the area that you are responsible for. It is your duty to enforce, appropriate and make possible in your life what Jesus’ death has wrought for you on the cross. You have to make the legal part of redemption a reality in your everyday life. The legal refers to your position in Christ, while the vital refers of your condition.

God expects that we should conform our condition into the very image of our position in Him. How do we do that? By working out our salvation with fear and trembling. One of the ways to do this is by believing what God has said concerning your position and not your condition. Secondly, enforce your position by speaking God’s word over your circumstance. That way you will make your way prosperous and have good success. Great week ahead my friend. #BeInspired.
