“Some people pretend to be rich, but have nothing. Others pretend to be poor, but own a fortune.” (Proverbs 13:7, GNB).
The world we are living in is a “show” world. Everything jumps at you, on television, radio, newspapers, magazines, even your colleagues and friends. A lot of people care so much about what others think of them and as a result, they tend to live a lie rather than a life.
They buy cars they don’t need, wear clothes they don’t like, live in houses they don’t need. All of these is to show to the world that they are doing okay while their bank account is in red. Pretending to be what you are not is indicative of a low self esteem, insecurity and pride just to mention a few.

Wise people cut their coats according to the resources they have. They are secure on the inside so they don’t care what people think of them. They understand the principle of wealth creation so they don’t go about buying things they don’t need and can’t afford. Many have fallen into debt because they want to live the high class social life the society throws at them.
You would find out that rich people don’t try to impress anyone. Sometimes they use the smallest of phones. But the poor man(poor in mind) will buy the most expensive phones. Wealth and poverty are a state of the mind and not what you let people see. Do not ensnare yourself in that cage of pretense. Be yourself, be real and live the life you are supposed to live. Hope you are having a lovely weekend. #BeInspired.
