“When those hired at five o’clock were paid, each received a full day’s wage. When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day’s wage.” (Matthew 20:9-10, NLT).
This was a parable Jesus gave explaining what the kingdom of God is like. He said it’s like unto a landowner who was hiring labourers to work in his vineyard. He hired some at the start of the day’s work (8am), some by 9am, others by 12pm and 3pm. The one that struck me was that he still hired some labourers at 5pm, just one hour before the close of the day’s work.
When it was time for payment, he paid them all the same thing. It didn’t matter when they started working, it didn’t matter the amount of time they put in, even those who were employed at the eleventh hour got the same pay package. Others who started working by 8am, thought they would get more, but the landowner didn’t give them more.

This is how the kingdom of God operates. It is characterised by favour. It has nothing to do with your works and the amount of time you put into something. Grace overrules all that. It is not by works that you get what you have. It is the favour of God.
The amazing thing about this story is that the landowner was the one who went out to look for labourers. Friend, it might look like December is here, the eleventh hour of the year. All your desires and set goals are yet to be achieved; receive favour this month in the name of Jesus. The favour of God will chase and bring you into abundance. In just this one month you will make what others have been working for since January this year. God is not a fair God, but He is a just God. His justice wrapped in favour shall speak for you. Receive supernatural speed. Lovely week ahead my friend and happy new month. #BeInspired.
