“And it will be that you shall drink from the brook, and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.” (1 Kings 17:4, NKJV).
Elijah was a prophet of God running from a king that wanted to kill him. So he was instructed by God to go hide in a brook. This is the interesting part of the story, where God says to Elijah that He had commanded ravens to feed him there.
Ravens are very stingy birds by nature. So much so that they do not even feed their own young. But by God’s command, these birds brought food every morning and evening for Elijah.
After this particular event, God spoke again. He said to Elijah, “Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.” (1 Kings 17:9, NKJV). Isn’t funny how God commands people and things to be of help to us? Imagine using a widow. What does a widow have?
Never look down on anything or anybody in 2015. God can use anything to bless you no matter how little it is. You know, we are used to expecting the rich and influential to be of help but God’s thoughts and our thoughts are far apart. Also do not forget that no one has the capacity to do anything for you except he/she is commanded by God. So learn to trust God completely this year and not man. If you can have the hand of God, you can have the heart of men. You shall experience supernatural provisions this year in the name of Jesus. Great year ahead my friend. #BeInspired.
