“Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?” (John 7:19, KJV).
I always wondered how Jesus was able to successfully handle the criticism of the Jews and all that sought to kill Him. At different times they called Him a devil, a deceiver, a fake prophet, a blasphemous person, etc. Yet He didn’t cower at all these accusations.
He was/is the creator of all men. He was/is the truth and the way. Yet many did not believe Him. Even His siblings did not believe Him in the beginning. Even one of His closest friends, Judas, betrayed Him, Peter too denied Him. All odds were against Him from all sides. My question is how was He able to handle all of these things without being offended at them?
Their actions never affected His thoughts and words towards them. He was still courteous with His words. Jesus, I must say, was a master of His emotions. In today’s term we will call it emotional intelligence. Bringing it back to us, how have you been handling criticism, offences and opposition. Do you fight back, get discouraged and give up on your dreams, do you cry and get frightened at such people?
The only times the bible recorded that Jesus cried was at the Garden of Gethsemane and at the grave of Lazarus His friend. He cried because of the death He was about to face and because He loved Lazarus respectively. Never did He cry because of the Jews who sought to kill Him.
So dear friend, stop crying over critics and opposition. No matter how good you are you’ll always have them. Be strong, maintain focus and be bold. Master your feeling and play the superiority game. You are stronger than you think. Don’t let anything stop you from achieving your goals because opposition can if you let it. Great day my friend. #BeInspired.
