“And whether they listen or refuse to listen—for remember, they are rebels—at least they will know they have had a prophet among them.” (Ezekiel 2:5, NLT). <Tweet this Quote>
Ezekiel was a prophet called to proclaim the mind of God to the very hard hearted nation of Israel. The people had drifted away from God and had disobeyed God’s commandment. As it is with the loving nature of God, He will make His word available through His chosen prophets to tell the people His mind.
One thing that struck me about God’s conversation with Ezekiel was that whether the people of Israel listened to him or not, it would be in record that there was a prophet among them. And this drove home a lot of lessons for me.
It was not Ezekiel’s business whether the people listened to him or not. Whether they liked him or not, whether they recognised, celebrated, appreciated him or not. Those were not the most important things. What mattered to God was that Ezekiel fulfilled his purpose as a prophet who was called to his generation.
You see why what people say or do to you doesn’t matter that much. Yes, recognition is a good way to get feedback on what you are doing, but even if no one says anything to you, make sure you fulfill your purpose. Keep living your life fully. You are called to your generation, serve it. This is more important to God than the applauds of men. Give no room for discouragement. Great day my friend. #BeInspired.
