Adeh Jones

I did a profile of one of my mentors in November 2014 as my 24Karats Leader for that month. Since then I haven’t done another. Well, I have one for the month of April. I hope that I will be able to do one for the month of May, there are so many people on my list that I hope to feature. So be expectant.

I would start by describing him as a purposeful, passionate and practical person. His love for what he does is contagious. I was endeared to him through his work even before I met him officially. His wisdom, and the niche he has created for himself on Parenting Intelligence and Strategy, is deep.

Adeh Jones Bessong is from Bashua in Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria. He had his primary school education in Jenkabi Nursery and Primary School, Wukari Taraba State. He then went to Federal Government College, Wukari Taraba State for his secondary education. He acquired his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Yola Adamawa State.

Having discovered his purpose for existence, he decided to follow a different career path despite being an Engineer. He decided to journey through the path of becoming a Parenting and Teen Coach. It was this call that led him to become a UK Certified Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). He has dedicated the rest of his life to helping parents raise powerful children who will not just be good children to their parents, but become great assets to their world. His works on parenting are deep, detailed and practical. You know, there is a difference between parenting out of the experience you had from your parents and a conscious parenting birthed out of deep knowledge and insight. I’ll bet millions of parents all over the world are not aware of this. Everyone parent or intending parent really needs to be armed with Adeh Jones’ work on Parenting 101 in order to be successful at raising the 21st Century child.

When I asked Adeh Jones why he chose this uncommon path, he said, “I wouldn’t say I chose this career path, but the career chose me. Everything in life pointed towards this direction. My love for stable homes, great parent-child relationship, my experiences and those of others,… everything works for good. I knew I was meant for this when I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit. It birthed my journey to fulfilling purpose and my ministry as a kingdom ambassador.” Isn’t it amazing how many great men and women who make significant impact in their world have a connection to someone higher than themselves- God?

His passion for personal growth and efficiency in what he does stirred him to acquire a certificate in Neuro-linguistic Programming. According to Wikipedia, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy created by Richard Bandler and John Grinder in California, United States in the 1970s. Its creators claim a connection between the neurological processes (“neuro”), language (“linguistic”) and behavioral patterns learned through experience (“programming”) and that these can be changed to achieve specific goals in life

As a practitioner, working with parents, families and teens from all works of life has become easier. All of his training platforms over the years have made him evolve into a Peak Performance Coach. This man, though young, is filled with so much wisdom. He is someone whose consistency will speak for him when the time comes.

Before my interview with him I thought he was married. This is because his insights on parenting are out of this world. However, he is engaged to a beautiful lady from Jos, Plateau State. He had initially  told me he was a single parent, an Illocaparent. To be clear, I had to enquire further what that meant. And he said, “ Parenting a child who is not biologically your child. It is a strange concept in Nigeria though”. Aha! That now sank in.

His upbringing is an experience he has got working for him. He was raised in a healthy home with parents who showered him with so much love. His father is a civil servant working with Federal Government Girls College, Yola in Adamawa State. While his mum is a housewife and pastry chef. For him, family is one of his greatest gifts.

Adeh Jones travels round the country to speak on issue of parenting and family values. He trains parents and mentors young people to become mighty for their generation. He also runs a training program tagged “Parenting Clinic on Blackberry Messenger to enable his audiences partake in his seminars and trainings without having to travel cross country.

One last thing I would like to say about Adeh Jones is that you should all watch out for him. He is one person our world will not forget in a hurry. You can connect with him on the following social media platforms:
