“Don’t you understand even yet? Don’t you remember the 5,000 I fed with five loaves, and the baskets of leftovers you picked up?” (Matthew 16:9, NLT).
The disciples travelling with Jesus forgot to take bread (food) along with them. And Jesus said that they should beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees. They began to argue among themselves, thinking He was talking about the bread they forgot. Jesus, knowing what they were arguing about, then made the statement we are using as our text scripture for today.
He had to remind them of the times when they didn’t have any bread but the five loaves a lad offered was multiplied to feed five thousand people. And they even had leftovers. He wondered how come they couldn’t discern that He wasn’t talking about physical bread but the doctrines of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Isn’t it amazing how we quickly forget the great miracles that happened in the past when we are faced with challenges in the present? Just like the disciples, we leave the realm of faith and lose sight of what God is actually saying concerning our present.
Because we are so overwhelmed with our problems, we misinterpret His word to suit the problem. Walking without faith will limit you and cause you to judge God’s word and your challenges with your senses (flesh). Never allow your lack of money, job, husband, friend, etc, make you lose sight of what God’s word says concerning you. You are a success, a victor, a wealthy person, the healed of the Lord. You are who God says you are. Remember, if He has done great things before in your life, He can do them again. Stay in faith. Great week ahead my friend. #BeInspired.
