“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. ” (1 Peter 5:8, NLT).
Many people look out for a human being as their enemy. Maybe because the person has always wanted their downfall. The truth is placing a human being in the category of an enemy over rates them. The real enemy of the believer is the devil. So if someone is acting up against you, deal with the real person influencing him or her- the devil.
One characteristic of the devil described here is that he walks about like a roaring lion. Let’s take a look at the pride of lions. The male lion is the one that roars while the lionesses do the hunting of preys. The essence of the roaring is to put fear in the heart of the prey so they will start running helter skelter.
The prey that runs out of its pack becomes exposed. This is usually the one prey that the predators focus on. They look for one stray animal influenced by fear. The devil is like that, the king of all demons. He roars and his demons stay on alert to get you if you stray. He roars to make you scared. If you allow his roar put fear in you, you will step out of faith. And fear is his arena. You can’t win the devil with fear in mind, you win by faith.
The devil’s roars could be persecution, trials, challenges, etc. He throws these at you so you would deny God, walk in fear, or doubt the power of God to come through for you. With this he keeps you in that problem and devours you. But when you stand firm in faith, you will resist him and he will flee from you. Remember that a roar is powerless if it doesn’t get to you. If the roar does not produce fear, there will be no chance of devouring you. Great day my friend. #BeInspired.
