“So the Jewish leaders tried all the harder to find a way to kill him. For he not only broke the Sabbath, he called God his Father, thereby making himself equal with God.” (John 5:18, NLT).

Yesterday we looked at the above topic and decided to go a little deeper with it. Jesus in His days on earth faced a lot of persecution from religious people. He was not like the normal church goer. He thought, talked and lived differently. Everything He did challenged their mind, culture and tradition. But His life was just an expression of love between Him and the Father. And He chose to show that love to humanity.

One of the dangers of practising religion instead of true Christianity is that religion lack faith. Religion is a worship of the senses. It’s a worship that can’t go beyond what you feel, taste, touch, smell and see. Religion has a form of godliness but denies the power thereof. It lacks the power of God. No wonder it seeks to do everything with the flesh- with deeds and acts.

You know a lot of people are still religious. They are still particular about why you shouldn’t wear ear rings, use make up, fix hair extensions, put on trousers, eat meat, listen to music, dance to a song, etc. Just like the Jews were particular about the Sabbath day. They killed Jesus for breaking the law. They majored on the minor and ‘minored’ on the major. Isn’t it ironic how we label some people sinners and candidates of hell because they do not live by our religious laws? Forgetting what Jesus said, that those who worship Him must do so in spirit and truth (John 4:24).

Religion will produce laws for you to live by, thereby leaving the true essence of God’s word. A true worshipper will not be caught up with these laws but will search the scripture for himself to really see what the Word of God says concerning certain issues. Religion binds you, cages you, enslaves you. But true Christianity make you free. Great week my friend. #BeInspired.

  1. I have really learned some new things by your blog. One other thing I’d prefer to say is always that newer computer system operating systems tend to allow far more memory to be used, but they as well demand more memory simply to run. If people’s computer can’t handle extra memory and the newest software requires that storage increase, it usually is the time to buy a new Personal computer. Thanks

  2. Thanks for this excellent article. Yet another thing to mention is that nearly all digital cameras can come equipped with some sort of zoom lens so that more or less of the scene to generally be included simply by ‘zooming’ in and out. These changes in target length usually are reflected within the viewfinder and on significant display screen on the back of the particular camera.
