“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11, KJV).
Many of us grew up to be taught that after each request or word said in prayer, we should end with “in Jesus name”. Every Christian uses the name of Jesus in prayer, but not every Christian understands the potency and supremacy of that name. I believe that if we did, it will go a long way in solving our faith problems.
After the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross, God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every name. There is an authority behind the name of Jesus. It has the power, backing and full weight of God behind it. In mentioning the name of Jesus, every authority, both in heaven, earth and hell pays immediate attention and bows to it.
Even God Himself responds to the name of Jesus. Principalities, powers, nature and humanity are subject to the authority of the name of Jesus. No one or nothing is above His name. Therefore, as a believer, anytime you use the name of Jesus you take on the personality of Jesus. The one to whom all power in heaven and earth has been given. No one hears your voice or sees you. But they hear and see the person of Jesus and His authority.
Anytime you confess the name of Jesus, you enforce the Lordship of Jesus over that situation. A lord is the owner of something. And Jesus is the owner of all. You see, it is in the nature of the name of Jesus to give glory to God. So it has been designed to force every tongue to confess the Lordship of Jesus. If you pray with this mentality every time, believing God for answers will not be difficult because you know you can’t be denied. Great day my friend. #BeInspired.
