“So the disciples resolved to send relief, each according to his individual ability [in proportion as he had prospered], to the brethren who lived in Judea.”– Acts 11:29 (KJV)
There was a time in the era of the early church when a prophecy came that there would be a great famine in the entire world. Because the Holy Ghost inspired this prophecy, this got the church ready for the days ahead. Before the supposed famine came, they resolved in their hearts to provide relief for the brethren in Judea. These people made up their minds to help even before hand. What a heart motivated by love!
Our world is made up of poor people, plagued by natural disasters, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, terrorism, wars etc. So many are in one devastating state or the other. Some are in rural areas with poor health and low standard of living. Even in the churches, organizations and environments we find ourselves, there are a lot of needs staring at us waiting to be met. We are admonished to be need driven. Let us make up our minds to help people who are in one devastating state or the other. We should look out for people’s needs and express the love of God towards them.
You can decide to sponsor that little boy on your street so he can go to school. A little well prepared food served to that old woman can go a long way. A voluntary work to rural communities to help the less privileged will do a great difference in the lives of people. Look for a life today and make a commitment to be a blessing to that life. Go that extra mile in attending to your patients and clients at work. Let your smile, love, care, patience, empathy and prayer leave a lasting impression in their lives. Make everyday of your life count. Begin now to make that impact you were designed to make.
You are the best of your kind; you are the next big thing. Make it happen.
How has your weekend been?
